Fasten the two cardboard pieces to the wooden strips by pressing down on each of the wooden pieces a few times with a staple gun. This will create a sandwich-like stink bug trap. The bugs will be drawn to the tight spaces and shelter of the trap.

Pick up the trap slowly after it has collected the insects, empty it into a garbage bag, tie the bag tightly and dispose of it. Alternatively, you can empty the trap into a bucket of ammonia water to kill the insects instantly.

Garlic’s flavor and scent are very potent, and the odor that garlic emits can actually repel many types of insects, including stink bugs. To make a natural repellant, mix 2 cups of water with 4 tsps. of garlic powder. Pour the solution in a spray bottle and spray the solution onto the ground, plant leaves, doorways and other possible points of entry in the home. Repeat the application every two to three days to keep control of the insects.
